Raised in the DMV, DJ WhitWard is a genre-blending DJ whose sound is rooted in hip-hop history and shaped by global dance culture. Growing up a devoted fan of New York titans like Nas, Lil’ Kim, Foxy Brown, and DMX, she developed an early love for the sharp lyricism and raw energy that defined 90s rap.
In the 2000s, her influences shifted south. With maternal family roots in Adamsville, Atlanta, WhitWard immersed herself in the heartbeat of Southern hip-hop—absorbing the rhythms, culture, and storytelling that make Atlanta one of the most influential music hubs in the world.
Her world expanded even further through sports, which introduced her to new cultures and a wide spectrum of sounds, including Afrobeats, techno, house, electronic, and Brazilian phonk. Dance music quickly became her creative home, inspiring her mission to unite people through movement.
Today, DJ WhitWard is known for her ability to seamlessly bridge genres, eras, and cultures—delivering electrifying sets where everyone feels represented and connected. Behind the decks, she channels her passion, heritage, and global influences to create dance floors that celebrate community, culture, and the universal language of music.
